As we reported a few weeks back in the PWInsider.com Elite section, MTV will be handling all aspects of the television production personally. The original plan to re-voice AAA tapes was thrown out when a potential pilot did not test well with the network.
AAA will not be involved in the project going further. The producers will be Lucha Libre USA. Marco Corleone (aka former WWE and WCW star Mark Jindrak) has been a point person in booking talent for the tapings.
The MTV2 Lucha series is slated to debut this Spring.
So MTV is having another go at jumping into the wrestling market, hopefully it won't be head-first like they did with WSX.
