Okay, this is something that I actually feel very strongly about. Sam is the youngest member on the current IPW roster, and he's one of 7 wrestlers under the age of 18. We used to have a 13 year old, but he quit a while ago. IPW doesn't train anybody under the age of 13, and everybody under 18 needs to get a big chunky legal document signed by their parents before they start training. A couple of our underage wrestlers are definitely some of the best on our roster.

What exactly is the problem that you guys have with underage wrestlers?

A bit of Wikipedia'ing has revealed that Rene Dupree starting working profesisonally from when he was 14, Shane Helms from when he was 16, and Chavo and Eddie used to wrestle each other on shows when they were kids.

Kind of a shit photo, but here's a 17 year old doing a 450 off a ladder onto a 15 year old.

I dont necessarily have a problem with them, but they should be watched a lot more carefully. Training at any age is fine, but some trainer should be sure they can do it safely before putting them in the ring properly. Which is true for everyone, obviously...

WWE wont sign anyone younger than 18. Thats probably mainly for legal reasons, but I know that personally Id just feel safer in the ring with someone who has fully grown.

15's nothing.

I remember storys about an 11 year old Girl working for a Joshi promotion in Japan, I think she "retired" after a handfull of comedy matchs.

I've seen a 6 year old wrestling in a Japanese fed on YouTube. I'll see if I can dig up a link.

Its not the age thats the problem but the obvious stiffness. I hope he can live with himself after what he did to you.

Best of luck with the surgery.

Hope the surgery works out well and you don't suffer any long-term damage. If Sam's parents have any decency, they should see it was his fault and pay the medical bills, in my opinion.

Post Re: Boring stories about my wrestling career.
Okay, we had another show last Saturday, I'm continuing in IPW as a manager. Gave a killer 3-minute face-turn promo where I said something along the lines of...

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Dexter Logic. Those of you who were at the show two weeks ago in Beenleigh may remember that by the end of the match that pitted myself and Brandy Alexander against Mystery and Spider Sam, I was a bit of a mangled, bloody mess. I left the arena that night in an ambulance. The doctors at the Logan Hospital told me that I had a completely crushed left cheekbone. I had surgery last week to fix that, and I now have a little metal plate in my face, holding everything together. I've decided that this is the end of my wrestling career. You have seen the last of Dexter Logic wrestling in the IPW ring.

Crowd gives a really picturesque "AWWWW!", and then laughs at how funny their "AWWWW!" just sounded.

I want to thank Hawk for giving me this opportunity, all of the wrestlers out the back, and most of all YOU, and the other IPW fans across Queensland. Thanks for coming out and supporting Aussie wrestling!

Crowd pops a little, but not quite as much as I wanted.

I think I can say on behalf of every wrestler in IPW, that whether we're winning, losing, being thrown through a table, or jumping off a ladder, and whether I'm winning an 18-man battle royal or losing a handicap match to Shock Therapy, whether I'm being hit with a stop sign or locking in the Dextosterone, that because of the support that you people here tonight give us, I have enjoyed EVERY... SINGLE... SECOND of it!

Crowd pops way bigger at that.

With that in mind, this isn't the last time you'll see me. I've decided to re-channel my passion into helping out a friend of mine, and doing whatever I can to help him climb as high on the IPW ladder as he can possibly get. You saw him fight earlier tonight in a losing effort, ladies and gentleman, my friend, my new CLIENT, and the next huge superstar here in IPW, Slammin'! Sam!

Slammin' Sam (a face, good solid wrestler who can't cut a promo to save his life, also one of my real-life best friends), then steps out, we double-high five, and pose for a little bit, then I give the mic back to the announcers and we head backstage.

I was originally going to give this promo immediately before Slammin' Sam's match, and do the whole face manager thing for his match, but our American ring announcer ('The American Nightmare' Grave Tavern) fucked up and forgot about my segment. So we put my bit between the last two matches. Actually worked pretty well in there, nice little breather between the two biggest matches on the card, worked well with the timing to space them out a little bit.

We then had a massive piss-up after the show, where I had six cans of CC and dry, and three cans of JD and coke. Fun way to top off a fun night.

Nup, I'm not gonna make it to the big leagues. Even if I got an offer, I'd turn it down. I'm too good for them. ;)

Actually, four of our more experienced wrestlers traveled together through the USA for a few months back in 1999, some WWF scouts offered one of them a contract, and he turned them down because he doesn't like the WWF style. He's our current heavyweight champion, Cruz. He's the guy in the mask:

I'm also glad you're staying in the business; and from what you write on 4w you certainly have the personality to be a great manager. if wrestling is in your blood it's in your blood; and it's good to see you've found a way to still be a part of the wrestling industry. Perhaps you the storyline could call for Spider Sam to start bragging about how he "put you out of the business" (like Hunter Hearst Helmsley did with Cactus Jack), and then you can manage a guy to go after him to get revenge; instant feud.

And of course I'm also glad it looks like your surgery went well. :good:

Best of luck with everything.

Just got a new batch of photos from shows over the past few months, here are some of my favourites...

Image

I love the way that everyone in this photo is staring and laughing. I won this arm wrestle, but was challenged to another one after my match by the kid in the white hat, and I lost it due to being exhausted after taking a pumphandle slam.

Image

Wrestling is all about facial expressions. ;)

My biggest fan!

My finishing move, the Dextosterone. If my opponent doesn't tap, I unlock my ankles and do a 180 degree roll to the left, which is a pinning move. Like this.

Your finisher looks like it was quite innovative... reminds me of making and combining some moves on my own in the backyard stuff I was into.... nothing will ever beat me at like 5'9 locking in the Six Seconds Magic on our resident Giant (he was like 6'5), and everyone in awe that I was able to twist in that nearly impossible position, lol.

I'm glad the surgery went well and you are staying in the business. If you ever have time, I'll PM you or talk to you on MSN, I can pass off some of my innovated moves (which I assure you can work) to the guys in your fed. It would be nice if someone put them to use :P
